Entry: LINKIN|PARK|LIVE Oct 16, 2003

Bangin' to: Billy Talent - Try Honesty

YOOOOSSSHH!!!! It's 2.20AM, approximately 4 hours since Linkin Park concluded their live concert at Stadium Merdeka. For those of you who went, cherish this once-in-a-lifetime moment! For those of you who couldn't make it, my condolences ^^.

Anyway, as most of you know, I rarely update my blog, and only if it's something worth mentioning. And this is worth mentioning. So, even though it's late and I'm tired, I WILL stay up to do this one thing, so people who didn't make it, can read about it here. |m/.

Ok, first off, I woke up this morning DAMN early (around 7ish) and proceeded to continue watching more episodes of Naruto, till about 12ish, when i left the house to go to Mid Valley... to hang out till it was time to head to Stadium Merdeka. The minor details which follow aren't that important, up until the point where we reached there on foot, at around 5pm, to find that the place was already jam-packed with people just waiting for the gates to open. This is what we had to go through before finally entering.

But before that happened, on a totally unrelated issue to Linkin Park, we were walking around looking for another way in that WASN'T so crowded, when we saw a girl in a tight tank top, denim mini skirt, and high boots. And she looked VERY familiar. Until my friend Raffique came along and went "Oh shit it's VJ Sarah!" and our brains finally went 'OH YEEEAAHH o_O!!'

Note: VJs almost NEVER look the way they look on TV. In real life, they're waaaay smaller ^^

Anyway, I took the oppurtunity to approach her and ask her for a picturem whereupon she said I first had to make a song dedication on TV for a show called Remote Control (*shrugs* I've never heard of it either ^^;). So I dedicated Maroon 5 - Harder To Breathe (cuz they asked me too :P) and got this moment immortalised on film :).... well not film technically, seeing as it was a digital camera, but why split hairs?

So I am a happy duck :)

ANYhooo... we made our way in, only to find that at least 60 metres of the entire front line was already packed with people. We decided we'd stay back for a while and try to work our way to the front. OH YEAH, I almost forgot! I ran into Kem and the OneAcademy bunch just before entering, so we hung out while waiting for the show to begin.

Lots of pushing and shoving later, we settled into a tight spot, were we were forced to remain for a while, while we waited for the opening act, Too Phat, to begin. Needless to say, NOBODY wanted to have to sit through that, so the crowd was pretty much riled up and having about half an hour of their time wasted listening to rap beats. bleh >P. I've got a couple pictures of them on stage, but I'm sure no one wants to see THAT, so I won't waste my time ^^.

AFTER that... and after about ANOTHER half an hour of waiting (I swear they made us wait on purpose, to get us riled up), some genius decides to blow up a beach ball and start tossing it around, where it was volleyed and smacked around the pit, traversing the entire mass. Not to mention amidst screams from the guy beside us of "WOIII, MY BALL WEI!! DON'T PINCH!! HIT ONLY!! MY BALL!! MY GENERATION!!" XD XD which was actually pretty damn funny.

ANYWAY, Linkin Park FINALLY made it on, amidst screams and yelling and rawk ons. They hit it off well with popular numbers, covering all their hit songs and some others. Lots pics, but most blurry and too far off. This is the best I have so far... gomen ^^.

During the show, we managed to push forward little by little, but never made it all the way to the fore, which is why the photo is really far off. But still, infectious beats, pumping rhythms, and some heavy-duty moshing made it an all-round sw333t experience. Kem seemed pretty content staying on the ground, even though I offered to give her some elevation above the head line. Mosh on, girl!

They rounded off their show with In The End, but after vehement protests of 'We Want More,' they came back out to play a couple more numbers. What a sporting bunch |m/. After we squeezed our way back out of the pit, we cooled off on the grass, soaking in that sw33t feeling of contentment, adrenaline cooldown, and a much-needed drink or two. Kem and Steve had to rush off to catch the LRT back to KJ, and I needed something to eat! So we searched out a mamak, and ate. And I returned home to upload the photos you've just seen.

Thus, my day ends with me bidding everyone a heartfelt 'Gooddnite' and 'Sod Off .|..'

P.S. Kemuri has full permission to leech this report, seeing as I leeched her Times Square report :P
